Hello - I’m Sarah

As a mum of two children under five, I know how different every postpartum experience can be - whether it feels magical, challenging, or somewhere in between.

I had two very different postnatal experiences myself, which means I understand the highs and lows that can come with this next chapter, especially when you’re truly sleep-deprived. Navigating feeding challenges, reflux, and allergies, while still trying to feel like yourself (or understand who the new you is), can be incredibly tough.

Over time, my own experiences made me feel deeply passionate about the care and support of mothers during this period. This led me to make the decision to step away from my corporate career in property and complete my training with Younique Postnatal Doula and become part of Doula UK so I can dedicate my work fully to supporting families in the postnatal period.

Add to that societal pressure, a need to feel like ‘me’ again, the sleep deprivation, the anxiety surrounding whether you’re doing things right, trying to keep on top of the house etc etc it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsupported. I’ve been there, and I understand just how hard this stage of life can feel.

I’m passionate about supporting mothers during the postnatal period and helping them feel just as cared for as their babies. I believe that when a mother’s needs are met — emotionally, physically, and practically — she is better supported to rest, recover, and find her confidence in early motherhood

How I support families

I bring both personal experience and professional care to support you and your family through your own postnatal journey.

My approach is calm, nurturing, and non-judgemental. I offer practical and emotional support so you can rest, recover, and enjoy your baby - especially during times when you might feel tired, overwhelmed, or “information-overloaded”.

Whether your partner has gone back to work, family support is further afield, you’re the first in your friendship group to have a baby, or you simply need extra help when things feel tough, I’ll be there to support you with reassurance and compassion.

Personal experience in reflux, allergies and infant feeding

Bringing a newborn home full of excitement, anxiety, apprehensive, relief etc but what happens when things start to feel a bit off and you gut is telling you something is wrong. I had this with both my children in different ways - my daughter less severely with her dairy or CMPA allergy and my son more severely with feeding refusal and challenges, a CMPA allergy and the dreaded ‘reflux’ (which is actually a symptom of something rather than a cause itself). It can be incredibly hard for parents and exhausting - something I fully understand, sympathise and can provide support with.

I can also help navigate and investigate what is causing your babies discomfort and accompany you to GP and specialist appointments as required.

If you’re expecting a baby or are in the early weeks after birth and feel you could benefit from extra postnatal support, I’d love to hear from you. We can arrange a free, no-pressure call to talk about what you’re experiencing and whether working together would feel supportive for you and your family.
