I offer calm emotional, physical and practical postnatal support to families in Wandsworth and surrounding areas. My role is to support you during the early weeks after birth, helping you feel rested, reassured, and confident as you recover and adjust to life with your baby.

What is a postnatal doula?

A postnatal doula in Wandsworth (also known as a postpartum doula) provides in-home support to families during the weeks and months after birth. This personalised care focuses on postnatal recovery, newborn care, and emotional and physical wellbeing - helping parents feel supported, confident, and less overwhelmed.

As a local postnatal doula, I offer compassionate, evidence-based support tailored to your family’s needs and situations, in the comfort of your own home.

How do I support families after birth?

Person holding a stack of folded knitted sweaters in beige, pink, gray, and black.

If you’re feeling worried, overwhelmed, or simply unsure - before or after birth - you’re not alone. I can support you with all or any of the following:

  • Feeding support

  • Emotional support and birth debriefing

  • Physical post birth support

  • Looking after the baby so you shower / nap / eat

  • Light cooking and meal preparation

  • Laundry and gentle household help

  • Planning and essential guidance

  • Shopping, running errands and appointment support

  • Reliable information and signposting to trusted professionals

  • Accompany you to GP & other specialist appointments

  • Leaving the house and that elusive first trip or outing

To best support you with the services listed above, I offer 3 hour or 4 hour sessions, giving enough time and space to ensure you feel fully supported every step of the way.

You can choose from a starter package of 12 hours, or continue your journey with an extended package of 24 hours or 36 hours, allowing for deeper, ongoing support tailored to your needs.

I also offer a dedicated postnatal planning session, lasting 1–2 hours, designed to help you feel confident, prepared, and supported as you plan for life after birth.

Packages and Pricing

Starter Package

12 hours of support - to be taken as either 3 x 4 hourly sessions or 4 x 3 hourly sessions.

Extended Packages

24 hours or 36 hours of support - to be taken as either 6 x 4 hourly sessions or 8 x 3 hourly sessions.

Postnatal Planning session

A session to help you feel more prepared and planned for when the baby arrives and to create a plan postnatally.

Please get in touch for a free complimentary call to discuss anything further including the support I can provide, availability and pricing of packages.

I do also offer ad hoc hourly or two hourly sessions on a case by case basis.

What a typical postnatal session looks like

A cozy bathroom scene with a white bathtub in the background, a small wooden table holding a lit candle, a glass jar with dried baby's breath flowers, a mug of coffee, and a stack of books, one titled 'Salted' and another 'Lady'.

Postnatal sessions usually last between 3-4 hours (I do take on shorter 1-2 hour sessions on a case by case basis) and I am there to help and support you in whatever way you need and I promise every day will be different. This is why I will always start with the question ‘how can I help or what do you need today’.

I’m desperate for a shower or a sleep or 5 minutes to myself” - that’s no problem let me take the baby for a bit

the washing pile has overflowed and I’ve run out of baby clothes” - again no problem I will do the washing

“my baby is feeding all the time and my nipples are so sore - why is this happening?” - no problem, let’s talk through the various options and I can signpost for further help if you feel you want it

“I’m exhausted, I haven’t eaten in hours” - no problem let me cook you something nutritious make you a cup of tea and let’s have a chat

“my baby is making this noise” or “how many times should I change a nappy” or “why is their poo this colour” or “what should I dress my baby in” or “how much sick is normal” - again I am here to answer all your questions if I can or signpost to a professional if required

“I really want to go out for a coffee or walk but it always takes too long and then I need to feed the baby or do a nappy change - I feel like I’m trapped at home” - I can certainly help and will support with actually leaving the house or if you want to feed / change your baby when you’re out

How I can help you in:

Recovering after birth

Wondering how you’ll feel physically, what’s normal, and how to care for your body as it heals

Wanting to breastfeed but finding it painful, confusing, or emotional? Or needing help with bottles, expressing, and feeding plans that work for you and your baby.

Feeding your baby

Emotional and physical support after birth

Having someone there to listen, reassure, and support you through the ups and downs when it all feels harder than expected.

Helping with nutritious meals, light household tasks like washing, cooking, tidying and creating space for you to rest.

Practical help at home

Having a moment to yourself

When all you want is a shower, a hot cup of tea, or five quiet minutes to breathe

Navigating appointments, conflicting advice & information overload

Midwives, health visitors, GP appointments, it can be hard keeping track of who to see when - understanding what happens next and feeling confident to ask questions and feel like your being listened to.

Helping an unsettled baby

Support with crying, reflux, allergies, or feeding challenges - and reassurance when things feel overwhelming.

When your partner returns to work and simply getting out the house

Feeling anxious about how you’ll cope on your own and how everything will get done.

Areas I support in South West London

I offer postnatal doula support in Wandsworth and nearby areas including Battersea, Balham, Tooting, Earlsfield, Wimbledon, Putney, Barnes, Clapham, and surrounding parts of South West London

  • Everyone is different. For those who like to be prepared then I would say as soon as you feel ready antenatally - that way we can work through a postnatal plan and make sure that you have everything you need ahead of arriving home with your baby.

If you haven’t booked one before your birth then do not worry! If you realise you might need some support after your baby has arrived then please do let in touch asap and if I have availability I will be ready to start as soon as you need me.

  • A postnatal doula looks after the mother and whole family ensuring they are well rested, informed and helps prioritise their mental and physical wellbeing along with ensuring a smooth transition for everyone involved (for example if you have other children or pets). A maternity nurse’s main focus however is on the baby.

  • Although I predominantly support the mother I will also help support the rest of the family - whether its older siblings (I can hold your baby if you want to spend some quality time with other siblings or can help entertain older ones when you’re with the baby feeding etc?), partners (making sure they are supported) and pets (I can either take the dog for a walk or hold the baby so you can).

  • By meeting them and seeing if you gel! It’s important that you get on well, don’t mind spending time with them and that the support you want matches the services that they provide.

I’d usually say you will get a pretty quick idea as to whether they are the right fit for you and your family.

  • The fact I have just been through it all! I mention that I have had two very different experiences with my children and understand first hand how wonderful and hard it can be! Having previously worked in the commercial property industry and understanding our societal and cultural pressures I can help mothers and families navigate their own path on this journey whether it’s your first or subsequent child - every journey is different!

I am also certified by Younique Postnatal and I am a member of Doula UK.

  • This is totally up to you! My packages consist of either 12 hours, 24 hours or 36 hours with a usual session lasting for either 3 or 4 hours depending on what you need.

Add hoc hourly or 2 hourly sessions in some cases are available so please get in touch.

All hours are to be taken in the first 3 months.
